Youtube
YouTube is a popular free video sharing website which lets users upload,
view, and share video clips. Videos can be rated; the average rating and
the number of times a video has been watched are both published.
Founded in February 2005 by three former employees of PayPal, the San
Bruno-based service utilizes Adobe Flash technology to display video.
The wide variety of site content includes movie and TV clips and music
videos, as well as amateur content such as videoblogging and short
original videos. Currently staffed by 67 employees, the company was
named TIME magazine's "Invention of the Year" for 2006.[2] In October
2006, Google Inc. announced that it had reached a deal to acquire the
company for US$1.65 billion in Google's stock. The deal
closed on 13 November 2006.
Start Monetizing Youtube!
If your not monetizing you tube then start doing it, its incredibly
simple to do. Just make a video, add appropriate tags, and use great
copywriting to spark visitor’s curiosity. I just recently had a
Valentines video made and was amazed on how many views I got on it for
pretty much nothing when I checked the stats today. So start making
videos :).
There's only a few that use it for marketing and quite a number
reporting good results in driving traffic. The quality is still
questionable though.
You have to keep in mind that those that watch videos on these sites are
on entertainment mode. You have to craft your video to be entertaining
and at the same time create curiosity and/or subliminally upsell. Put
your URL at the end of the video.
What landing page format to effectively convert these video visitors is
not yet cracked and have to be tested. There must be continuity from the
video so my guess it is best used as lead generation not so much of a
hard sell.
Actual case study results.
(Johnny shares what he found from a fellow marketer)
I've used YouTube for several niches, and it's been pretty successful.
There are 2 ways to do it, one way is to make a popular viral video and
then lead that
UN-targeted traffic to your website on hope it converts.
The other way is to make niche videos and lead that targeted traffic to
your website.
Your "numbers" like views, visitors, and hits won't be as "impressive"
but your conversion rates will be better.
An example is a recent niche campaign I started on Feb 1st.
So far my YouTube videos in this niche have almost 10,000 views.
These 10,000 views have resulted in 122 unique visitors to my website in
12 days....about 10 a day. Not an "avalanche" of traffic but these are
targetted visitors....
Visitors I would have to PAY for to get them from Google Adwords.
122 clicks in this niche on Adwords would cost me around $90 at $0.75 a
click.
So far this little campaign has resulted in 3 affiliate sales, totalling
around $120.
Now with Adwords I would have turned a $30 profit....with YouTube I keep
ALL of my
commissions as pure profit.
How To Get 1000 Views
Make SURE to post your url in the opening and/or closing screen of you
video, so yeah, it's worth it to post there.
The best way i have found to get my videos seen is to...
Go to Most Viewed (Today)
Click on a Video
Under Comments & Responses, If you see a video box,
Click the "Post a video response"
Choose your video(For best results, make sure right in the middle of
your video is an image of something of interest.
Then click the "respond with this video"
Most will say" Your video response will be posted after it has been
approved by the video owner"
Sometimes they have a default setting which will automatically add your
video.
Just keep checking the most popular videos and see if you can " Ride "
on their fame
This will get your video seen by thousands.
Placing videos on the youtube server is a plus max way to gen traffic
and buzz about your new product on your hot website.
But first you need content, so where do we go -
iSTOCKvideo of course, where you can grab videos for as little as $5.
With a little editing using FREE PD (public domain) programs easily
downloaded off the internet you can add a watermark and a voice over for
your product.
You can get a Sony Cybershot P52 on Ebay for $50, camera shoots stills
and video. I have seen them sell as low as $20 with some damage. Now to
edit your video. Go to download.com and get a free trial of any max pop
video editor - add captions and watermarks; then add sound and voice.
To show shots of your web site on a PC use the free CamStudio it is an
early version of Camtasia without all the bells and whistles. Also,
create a background "theme song". I get good background music at
opuzz.com and there are many websites with free pd sound effects out
there.
Finally upload your video to youtube.
Tips
1) Make sure the tags match your content.
2) You have a link back to your page.
3) Write a catchy title to grab audience.
4) A graphic 'hook' early in the video.
5) End with a pitch for your product and a call to action.
Make Money With More Than Youtube!!!
http://www.revver.com
Youtube is just ONE of them. Also post to google video.
A real cool one from the potential of making money is
http://www.revver.com
They actually revenue share with you for your content. I have yet to
actually post anything there but you can bet I will! They may not be as
popular as You tube or Google Video, but they are a lot more innovative
and exciting in their approach. They are the first to actually pay you
for your videos.
